Modeling and thermal management of proton exchange membrane fuel cell for fuel cell/battery hybrid automotive vehicle

The proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) stack is a key component in the cell/battery hybrid vehicle. Thermal management and optimized control of PEMFC under real driving cycle remains challenging issue. This paper presents new vehicle model, including simulations diver behavior, dynamic, unit, energy stack, cooling system, battery, DC/DC converter, motor. model had been validated against experimental results. aim to analyze characteristics 30 kW regulated by its system actual conditions. Under cycles (0–65 kW/h), 33%–50% total becomes heat; heat dissipation requirements are high increase at speed acceleration. A PID proposed; water flow rate adjusted; succeeded stabilizing temperature 350 K Constant relative lower inlet (340 K) improves regulation ability control. can provide theoretical basis for thermal complex • vehicles. Hybrid simulates driver dynamics, control, PEMFC, battery. heat. Proposed stabilizes condition.
